Herb Lore (Fong Wan, 1927) is no longer published on this site.

It was not a herbal in the sense the rest of this library uses the word. It was promotional material for a herb company, assembled from customer testimonials, and it asserted that its products had cured cancer, consumption, appendicitis, epilepsy and heart disease. Those claims were false when they were printed and they are false now.

Reproducing that text verbatim, page after page, presented it as though it were a historical reference work like the others here. It is not comparable to Culpeper or Gerard, whose entries record what a seventeenth-century physician believed; it is advertising, and it was making medical claims to whoever found it. So it has been taken down rather than annotated.
