FOREWORD ::

The demand of Americans for Chinese Herbal Remedies has for several years been steadily on the increase. Consequently, whereas some forty years ago the sale of Chinese Herbs in the United States was confined almost wholly to the Chinese population, at the time of this writing, the American patrons far outnumber the Chinese. Our company has been doing business in Oakland, California, for the past twelve years. During this period we have afforded genuine, and, in most cases, permanent relief to approximately fourteen thousand sufferers, variously afflicted. Our harmless, life-giving herbs have so built up their bodies, purified their blood, and renewed their strength that they have felt like their former selves again and have joyfully taken up the burdens of life anew. We are here presenting the testimonials of two hundred happy, healthy patrons, the addresses of all of whom are on file at our office and may be obtained by any interested sufferers.

The office hours of our herbalist are from 9 A. M. to 7 P. M. daily, and from 9 to to 2 on Sundays. Herbs are cooked and the tea served at the office daily to those patrons who so desire, while for those who prefer to cook and drink their herbs at home, several packages are put up at one time. To others, herbs are mailed, postpaid and insured. Herbs are compounded to meet the needs of the individual, and in all cases the price is the same, being ten dollars per week in advance for seven packages, one to be cooked, in accordance with directions given, and the tea drunk each day. Believing that the American public would be interested in knowing something of the Chinese theories regarding the functioning of the various organs of the body, and of the Chinese methods of healing that have come down to us through the ages, we are also printing several articles, all of which are from the pen of our herbalist. Oakland, California, July, 1927.
