For thousands of years the Chinese people have believed that all the fowls (especially chicken) belong to the vegetation element. While their meats and juices are very rich and strengthening, they are too rich for the liver, which belongs to the Vegetation Element. The Chinese people do not permit a sufferer from cold and fever to eat chicken, unless it has been thoroughly salted over night.
