Rhode Island Bent, 5 parts; Crested Dogtail, 4 parts; Canada Blue Grass, 4 parts; Kentucky Blue Grass, 2½ parts; 1/2 part White Clover.

Most ready-made grass-seed mixtures contain a small percentage of white clover. The amount of clover in a lawn is purely a matter of taste and if more is desired than is provided for in the mixture used, [229] it can be procured and should be sown after the grass seed is distributed. It is not advisable to mix a large quantity of it with the other grasses as its seed is heavier and does not, therefore, mix evenly enough to insure a satisfactory distribution.
