Zinnias, Youth and Old Age. Zinnias are very easily grown, they thrive in good, well-prepared soil that is not too heavy, but will give fair results in any garden soil. They are hardy and may be seeded in the open about April 20th. It is best to sow first in a seed bed and transplant to the garden when small.

Seeds started indoors for early bloom should be transferred to pots when they are large enough to handle, as large plants are difficult to transplant unless they are pot grown. Zinnias started outdoors in April should begin blooming in July, and will continue until frost. The dwarf varieties should be set 10 inches [42]
