Our Mission

The editor-in-chief of The Garden Handbook is Ethan Trex. He has been writing and editing digital and print content for nearly three decades. While he was Editorial Director at Mental Floss, the brand won two Webby Awards and was a finalist for a National Magazine Award. Prior to that, he was head writer for CollegeHumor, a featured digital columnist for Sports Illustrated, and a longtime contributor to ESPN the Magazine. Ethan is the coauthor of six books, one trivia board game, and countless articles. His favorite old book is 1963’s Dictionary of American Slang edited by Stuart Flexner and Howard Wentworth, and he is always on the hunt for new-to-him books to add to the thousands he has at home.
