Hybrid Perpetuals or June Roses
Hybrid perpetuals are best pruned from March 1st to 15th. For mass effect leave 4 or 5 canes to each bush and cut back all canes to within 3 feet of the ground. The best method and the one which produces the finest flowers is to shorten the shoots back to 6 or 8 buds, depending upon the vigor of the shoot to be pruned. Remove all weak wood that can be spared and all small and surplus branches that crowd and cross each other. [127]
