Varieties. Laucheana is a little gem, bearing flowers like those of a miniature carnation above tufts of grass-like foliage. Other varieties are, latifolia and maritima; May and June is their blooming season.
Arabis alpina, Rock-Cress. Arabis blooms in April, its flowers are white and the plant is most desirable for rock work. It is hardy and will thrive in poor soil but requires ample sunshine. Arabis is easily propagated by seeds sown during the summer or by root divisions best made immediately after bloom, owing to its early flowering period.
