For culture, see AEgiphila. A. africana (African).* fl. crimson, disposed in racemes; petals four (furnished with claws), upper one largest. June. fr., legume ligneus, many-celled; seeds black, with scarlet aril. l. abruptly pinnate. h. 30ft. Sierra Leone, 1821.
