A small genus of pretty, hardy herbs. A. viridis is of easy culture in an open situation, and light soil. Increased by division of the root; or by seeds, which ripen in abundance. A. viridis (green). fl. purplish-green, large; corolla sub-campanulate, five-cleft; umbels proceeding from the stem, sub-panicled, few-flowered.
