California is the home of this genus. To the species described on p. 153, Vol. I., the following should now be added:
B. gracilis (slender). fl.-heads bright yellow, solitary, radiate. l. opposite, linear. h. 6ft. to 10ft. California, 1887. A hardy annual, branching from the base. (R. G. 1887, p. 392.)
