Caldcluvia
(named after Alexander Caldeleugh, F.R.S. and F.L.S., who collected and sent to this country many plants from Chili). ORD. Saxifrageae. A greenhouse evergreen tree. Flowers disposed in terminal panicles. Leaves opposite, simple, serrate, glabrous; pedicels jointless; stipules twin, sub-falcate, toothed, caducous. C. paniculata thrives well in a mixture composed of peat and loam. Propagation may be effected by cuttings of the half-ripened shoots, which should be planted in sand, under a hand glass, and placed in a very gentle bottom heat.
