Calycotome
(from kalyx, kalykos, calyx, and tome, a section; lips of calyx fall off). ORD. Leguminosae. A small genus of hardy, divaricately-branched, spiny shrubs, formerly included as a section of Cytisus. Flowers yellow, disposed in short branched leafy fasicles. For culture, see Cytisus. C. spinosa(spiny). fl. yellow. June and July. l.,leaflets obovate-oblong. Branches angular, spiny. h. 5ft. to 6ft.
