The true Camphor of commerce is a product of the oil procured from the wood, branches, and leaves of this tree, by means of dry distillation. The species thrives in a compost of peat and loam, and may be propagated by cuttings. C. officinalis (officinal). fl. greenish-white. March to June. l. triple-nerved, lanceolate, ovate. h. 20ft.
