Chlorophytum (From chloros green and phyton)

(from chloros, green, and phyton, a plant). ORD. Liliaceae. Greenhouse or stove evergreen perennials, allied to Anthericum. They are of easy culture in a rich sandy loam. Propagated by seeds or suckers, or by divisions of the plant in spring. All the species are white-flowered, and are of no special horticultural value. Out of the forty species known to science, the following have been, or are, in cultivation: affine, Bowkerii, elatum, and falcatum.
