(from Kulkas, the Arabic name for Colocasia antiquorum, a plant of the same family). SYN. Denhamia. ORD. Araceae. Stove evergreen climbers, allied to Philodendron (which see for culture, &c.). C. scandens (climbing). fl., spathe whitish-brown; sheaths petiolar, long, equal to the scape. June. l. ovate-lanceolate, acuminate. Stem twining, suffrutescent. West Africa, 1822.
