E. armata (armed). fl., spadix tomentose, paniculate, pendent. l. large, fan-shaped, palmatisect, glaucous; margins of the petioles armed with spines. California, 1887. SYNS. E. aculeata of Regel (R.G. 1887, 279, f. 74), Brahea Roezlii.
