Glyphosperma
(from glyphe, carving, and sperma, seed; in allusion to the markings of the seed). ORD. Liliaceoe. A singular hardy plant, nearly allied to the European Anthericum. It has fascicled, fleshy, fibrous roots, and slender, soft, bright green, grass-like leaves. It thrives in any dry, sandy soil, but should be protected, during winter, from excessive moisture. G. Palmeri (Palmer's). fl. white, starry, 3/4in. in diameter, in panicled racemes. l. linear, channelled, 1ft. to 1 1/2ft. long. Northern Mexico, 1884. (B. M. 6717.)
