To the species described on pp. 168-9, Vol. II., the following should now be added:

H. aureum (golden). fl. large, nearly solitary and sessile; petals orange-yellow, coriaceous, reflexed, longer than the ovate, unequal sepals and the excessively numerous stamens. Summer. l. oblong, obtuse, attenuate, glaucous beneath, minutely undulate-crisped on the margin, somewhat coriaceous. h. 2ft. 4ft. Southern United States. Habit dense and compact.
