To the species and varieties described on pp. 536-7, Vol. III., the following should now be added:
S. Emodi aurea (golden). This only differs from the type in having the leaves blotched with dull yellow. 1886.
S. pekinensis (Pekin). l. opposite; petioles and midrib blackish-purple. Branchlets slender, velvety, dark red. North China, 1886. A very bushy shrub or small tree. SYN. Ligustrina pekinensis.
S. p. pendula (pendulous). This only differs from the type in its "weeping" habit.
