(the Arabic or Egyptian name of the plant). ORD. Cruciferae. A small genus (four species) of half-hardy, suffrutescent herbs, inhabiting North Africa, Arabia, and Persia. Flowers white or violet, solitary or loosely racemose, ebracteate. Leaves oblong, toothed, rather thick. Two of the species have been introduced, but probably they are not now in cultivation.
