Aristea (This genus embraces about)
This genus embraces about fifteen species, natives of tropical and South Africa and Madagascar. To those mentioned on p. 112, Vol. I., the following should now be added:
A. platycaulis (broad-stemmed). fl., perianth blue, the segments oblong, 1/4in. long; pedicels small; inflorescence an ample panicle 8in. to 9in. long, with all the rachises much flattened, the lower branches overtopped by their subtending leaves. Summer. l., radical ones ensiform, firm, 1ft. long, 1in. broad. 1887.
