C. Sprengeri (Sprenger's). fl.-heads white, fragrant; involucral scales smooth. l. linear-lanceolate, dark green with white veins, the side veins running into two or three marginal spines. 1883. Garden hybrid. A hardy perennial, useful for rockwork and carpet-bedding.
