Eucalyptus (Calyx tube turbinate)
Calyx tube turbinate or campanulate, the base adnate with the ovary, the apex truncate, entire or remotely toothed; stamens numerous, in several series, free. To the species described on pp. 535-6, Vol. 1., the following should now be added:
E. ficifolia (Fig-leaved). fl. showy; calyx slightly tinged with red; filaments beautiful cinnabar-red. l. conspicuously stalked, leathery, always somewhat decurrent into the stalk, pointed at the apex, or sometimes narrowly so. A tree seldom exceeding 50ft. in height in its native forests.
