To the species described on p. 8, Vol. III., the following should now be added:

P. jugosa (ridged). l. opposite, elliptic-oblong, dark, satiny green, with depressed midrib and veins, the under surface purple. Brazil, 1886. P. nicotianaefolia (Tobacco-leaved). fl. 2/3in. long, shortly pedicellate; calyx pubescent, the lobes triangular; corolla pale yellow, tomentose, tubular, the lobes short, triangular, margined red; thyrse terminal or from one of the upper axils, 4in. to 7in. long, contracted. September. l. opposite, 5in. to 9in. long, 2in. to 3in. broad, elliptic-lanceolate or oblong, acuminate, rather membranous. Brazil. (B. M. 7001.)
