Beurre Diel
Fruit large, handsome, obovate; eye large, in an uneven basin; skin greenish-yellow, with numerous patches of russet; flesh juicy, very buttery, melting, and very rich. November and December. A Pear of great excellence. The tree is hardy, very vigorous, and an abundant bearer, either as a standard or against a wall. The branches should be kept well thinned.
