Chamaedorea (This genus comprises about)

This genus comprises about sixty species, natives of Western tropical America. To those described on p. 305, Vol. I., the following should now be added:

C. polita (polished). l. bifid when young, breaking up with age into two pairs of pinnae, with a large, terminal leaflet; petioles (and stems) smooth. Mexico, 1884.

C. pulchella (pretty). l. produced in profusion, gracefully arched, pinnate, having very numerous linear leaflets. 1885. A very ornamental Palm, suitable for table decoration.

C. Wobstiana (Wobst's). An ornamental Palm, bearing a close resemblance to C. Sartorii, but it is more robust, and has more numerous leaves. 1885.
