To the species described on p. 15, Vol. III., the following should now be added:

P. caribaeum (Caribbean). fl. pure white, fragrant, six to twelve in a sessile umbel; perianth tube 2in. to 3in. long; segments linear, 3in. to 3 1/2in. long; staminal cup regularly obconic, 1in. long, faintly two-toothed between the free tips of the filaments, which are 1 1/2in. to 2in. long; peduncle acutely angled, little shorter than the leaves. l. a dozen or more, multifarious, lorate, acute, 2ft. to 3ft. long, 2in. to 3in. broad above the middle, narrowed to 1in. at the base. Bulb globose, 3in. to 4in. in diameter. West Indies. Stove. The correct name of this plant is Hymenocallis caribaea. P. guianensis (Guiana). fl. disposed in clusters; segments narrow, drooping, curled and twisted; corona trumpet-shaped; filaments green; anthers yellow; scape erect. British Guiana, 1887. Stove. P. parviflorum (small-flowered). fl. small, seven or eight in an umbel; stamens having a broad base, with an erect tooth on each side; scape shorter than the leaves. Summer. l. broad, linear, acuminate. 1885. Greenhouse.
