To the species described on pp. 18-19, Vol. III., the following variety should now be added:

P. italicum japonicum (Japanese). A form of the common Millet, with pendulous inflorescences, cultivated in Turkestan. It is probably native throughout Eastern and Southern Asia. h. 1 1/2ft. (R. G. 1887, p. 278, f. 72.)
