Prince Engelbert
Fruit very large, oval, deep purple, with a remarkably dense bloom; flesh juicy, with a rich, brisk flavour. End of August, and September. One of the finest culinary Plums, delicious when preserved; it is also good for dessert when highly ripened. The tree is a great bearer.
