Tridens
ORD. Gramineae. A genus comprising upwards of twenty species of greenhouse or hardy, perennial Grasses, natives of Europe, extra-tropical America, South and sub-tropical Africa, Australia, and New Zealand, a few being also found in tropical America. Spikelets many-flowered, usually erect; glumes rather rigid, one to three-nerved, the two lower ones empty; panicle terminal, narrow or ample. Leaves narrow. T. decumbens (Heath Grass) is a native of Britain. Several species have been introduced, but they have no value from a garden standpoint.
