Calochortus (Baker enumerates twenty-one)
Baker enumerates twenty-one, and S. Watson thirty-two, species of this genus, natives of North (mostly Western) America, extending as far as Mexico. To the varieties of C. venustus described on p. 245, Vol. I., the following should now be added:
C. venustus roseus (rose-coloured). fl. white inside, with a distinct, red spot on each segment, purplish-rose outside. l. short, bluish-green. 1886.
